oh my god this map is EVIL. even from the mountain climb it already screws you over so badly by combining your natural inability to Look Up In The Video Game and hitscanners that can shoot at you just fine, and from then on it depraves you of ammo like crazy. i gave myself a rule to only use bullets on smaller monsters (i.e. zombies and imps) while leaving shells for the bigger ones. if i really ran low, i did have to make some exceptions, but sticking to it seemed to help. also the plasma is only really necessary for getting the bezerk in the imp corridor because i do NOT feel like trying to punch that many imps and a hell knight in that tight of a space while starting with the chaingun or something. some of the secrets in this are also incredibly stupid. like yeah cool lemme hit the space between this pillar with a green torch on it that i can just barely see from below to get a backpack. yeah cool lemme just interact with this barely distinct line to kill a singular shotgunner thats only visually different because its a bit darker. yeah cool lemme run off the red key pillar and get back on the ledge i was just on to find this teleporter in a corner that gives me a singular medkit. and yeah at least with the first one i mentioned theres a real visual indicator, but the second one just feels like it was meant to be found by people who interact with every wall ever when theyre desperate to find secrets, and the last one i guess huy pham just wanted people to find on complete accident when theyre lost. i guess all of this is to say that the map might not have aged the best.
