It is hard to feel like the time is optimal on this one, just like in the D2All. Unlike the D2All, this map feels way less dangerous than it was then, obviously due to being an IL and not a fulcrum point of a 3 hour run, over an hour in, like it was in the D2All. My logic with this route was get BFG ASAP, then trip most of the map to infight. A key routing element for me was spending a lot of BFG on the YSK ambush, where there are like 6 viles behind a small army of imps around some glowing alien pillar bacteria things (really great implementation of theme). I did not want them to trip them earlier in the map and have them roam all around. That section went pretty much optimally here, and in general I got the RNG I needed in this one. Had many runs close to sub 3:30 where 1 monster was missing, usually a baron at the start, so that was one of the first places I went to during cleanup this time, and it paid off.

I watched j4rio's demo only after I got this one, and there is something cracked about his route. He honestly did not do the cleanup very well at all in his demo. If you compare this run to his, I am in cleanup phase at 2:39 with 393 kills, while he is at cleanup phase at 2:42 with 393 kills, and he ends up having like almost 300 more cells left in the map than I did. It is only through a really dreadful grind in this map to produce a run with a clean ending, and my run does not have a super perfect clean ending either, but his just really kneecapped his run. I honestly don't know how he had so many extra cells with so little monsters left in the map, maybe it was because he released the viles at the YSK and did not BFG through imps or something.
