There is something wrong with speedrunning UV-Max on this map. It is deeply unsettling, and worthy of an investigation by authorities. There is a significant number of random things that can happen that can kill this run, that anyone attempting to beat this run should experience. Every single area, besides the exit, is liable to going wrong somehow. In this run, I got there about 10 seconds faster than Twilight, but I had a complete failure to press the switch in the final fight, and I BFG'd both a little too early and a little too much into the HKs. In the middle of the grind, I started getting input lag for some reason which was extremely annoying and hurting my movement. I had my door open and my cats kept coming in and meowing at me and threatening to jump on the desk and my lap while I was malding and going insane.

This route probably added an unnecessary additional RNG check(s) around the YC area by using the invuln on the penultimate area, whereas Twilight uses it for the YC area and everything involving that. However, I saved more BFG and the invuln for the penultimate, and if you compare our runs, I did that part in 36 seconds, whereas Twilight did it in 55 seconds, giving me a -19s advantage in that spot, and I was -10s faster entering finale. Unfortunately, my shitty play made me +6s in the finale, since my run ended up being 4 seconds faster ultimately. I could have leveraged the IoS death explosions better too, but I knew I had the run in the bag at that point and chickened out on risking one last RNG check. I had one run where I entered the finale 9-10 seconds behind Twilight, but finished it with all kills 1 second slower than their run, so the finale could have been done like 14 seconds faster than this attempt.

It has been a while since I encountered a run randomly this unexpectedly wicked, so kudos to Twilight for producing a great time on this one. Truly obnoxious.
